GOOD Questions
I remember the moment I first fell in love with advertising. It happened during a creative brainstorming session for Furniture Row, where we were exploring the theme of what’s “not natural.” I was captivated by the idea that humor could be a powerful tool. More importantly, I wanted to use it to promote better products. However, as time went on and algorithms began to dominate the industry, I found myself only helping to sell things people didn’t need. I felt like our world was on fire and I was adding more fuel to the flames.
During this time, I was also undergoing a significant internal transformation. I was doing my best to live sustainably (even moving into 100 sq ft). However, deep down, I knew that my efforts weren't making a real impact. Then during a trip to a National Park (of course!) I realized: I needed to understand Climate Change beyond the headlines. I immediately applied for a Climate Fellowship.
That experience taught me that we cannot create the future using the same methods we used to build the past. I needed to do the same. Personally, I shifted my focus from individual actions to collective impact. Professionally, it led me to direct my efforts toward projects with the greatest potential to make a significant difference.
And now I know what I was built to do.
